Soccer Jerseys

I managed to complete the jersey design of ACE Untd and here they are. The images are approximate and may not resemble the actual product, either by design or by colour. Assuming that we all understand how the jersey is supposed to look, i made these on approximations. I completely forgot how the red part was looking. I just remember a strip of the major colour breaking the flow of the red one. That was what i tried working on. I ignored the rest of the shape. I am sure it doesn't even extend upto the height to which i made this one. The text was selected nearly at random and because I liked its careless yet professional approach, i went for it. I am open to other fonts as well...

This was totally random. The font is different from what i was talking about.

This is the font i was talking about.

A back-view of the same shirt as above. Sample name is Johny with the number 77.

This Peculiar Day

Today was quite an unexpected day. First thing i heard was the Bandh. It actually worked out, but at a price... They declared a holiday after reaching college and attending a class. That was some foolish thinking out there by someone. The bandh was talked about even before it started, and our college management didn't bother to dig into this, until the guys actually ended up disrupting regular classes ...

That incident helped me get home by noon, and after a simple lunch, i found myself at Universal Bakery... why was i there ??? Oh i forgot!! That was for the jerseys... I was cursing myself for being late by around 30min (only because i was on the system and forgot about the time). Yaseen asked me to be there at 5:30 and i was there at 6... IST!!! I was shocked to hear that Sandeep and Srikar were there by 4:30pm and the more stupid thing was, Yaseen (the one who called everyone) came there after 6:45 ! After all this confusion, finally the talk moved over to the jerseys. The colour was selected as Blue-Black jersey, with Red sidelines, and White stripes. The logo, text and numbers to emerge in white. A sample of the logo that will be on the shirt is here ..

That left me totally tired because we started this work at 7pm and ended at 8:30 and in the meantime, we never had anything to eat keeping all those bakeries and eateries around ...

ACE United FC

That's the name of our Football team in MRCET. I hope it gives us some good luck. In our first year, we were named The Drenchers, and we got totally drenched. We lost 2-1 to CSE in our very first match as Drenchers and we let down so many hopeful people. People were pretty sure we are gonna win the match, judging by the amount of practice we put in. But CSE got the better of us, and we paid the price for showing some extra-confidence with skill, and being too meek and humble on the pitch. The CSE were like huge boulders blocking every tiny striker attacking from Aero.

Anyway, that were some old memories when Aero played CSE. But now, we are all a unit and MRCET has to win matches. I don't know where, but we must be able to prove our talent because we have it. ACE United FC goes forward with nothing to lose and everything to gain. The only match MRCET took part was in ICFAI Tech. and we lost 2-1 again, to NIFT from Mumbai. It was a great match though.

This is the logo i designed for ACE United FC, and this might be either worn on a Black Jersey with white numbers, or a Red Jersey with Black numbers. Whatever it may be, the logo is nearly final, and other than some small changes, it is gonna go onto the ACE United Jersey....

Hair-raising Harry ..

Finally, the mystery of The Deathly Hallows is over. Yesterday, as i came closer to the end of the book, the story still twisted and i was petrified by the way Rowling magicked the story around.. It was a great pleasure to read the book and though it was quite a long book, i had a feeling Rowling was quite in a hurry to finish the story. There were parts where i felt she just jumped over situations so that it'll save some time and still get the reader to understand what's going on. That same hurry was rushing thru me. I was in an equal hurry to get over with it. The number of deaths is shockingly high and tragic, and high adrenaline action at regular intervals kept the book going at that constant pace...

As an overall, i can't really say whether it was a great book, coz, i still feel, no HP book can beat the 3rd and 4th books... they were simply the best in my view. Maybe Deathly Hallows will come only next. The best thing about this book was that all secrets are revealed and the plots show the creative imagination of the author. I hope she can do more magic like this... HP is over at last ...

Harry's magic everywhere ...

Well, i can say i read atleast around half of the book, Deathly Hallows, and i am totally dumbstruck as to what is going on at the moment. It would be foolish to break that magical law binding me from letting out the secrets in the book, though most might have even finished it by now. I am kinda purposely reading it slowly coz, i remember i finished Half-Blood Prince within 2 days and got totally bored after that .... until i laid my hands on some other interesting books ...

This book really seems to be finalizing all those hidden secrets and mysteries that kept us waiting right from the first book. Well, that's all here now, anymore words and i would see Avada Kedavra's flying at me from all directions ...

There you go.. all that tragic magic...

Funday

Sunday is the day when i feel i must simply and plainly chillout and relax at home. No studies and no moving out of the house. But today was something different. Early in the morning, my reminder told me, i must go to the Parade Grounds and fine-tune my football skills. I reached there sharp at 6am, and to my horror, nobody turned up. I was foolishly trying to confirm whether i came to the right place, and i even got a doubt if today is a holiday... i kept checking my watch to see if the date and time are correct or if i came to the wrong place at the wrong time. I simply didn't know what to do, calling as many as i can, i understood that, no one was really interested to come, and i was the fool to take this so seriously. As an act of compensation, 2 friends, Manish and Sandeep came over to meet me, and we left after exchanging a few words.

Later, i managed to get to Kalyan's house in Srikar's car and we had a nice jam session. For once i felt things were moving. We played songs like, Take a Look Around, What I've Done, In The End, and more, and i felt they worked out. The presence of a second guitar really changed things around and it helped me concentrate on my stuff for once. All those practices in college kept me fretting around because there was only one proper guitarist, and even the keyboards were struggling to make a sound. This time, i had no trouble of that sort. Everyone knew what they had to do and it was done. Ofcourse, we still need lots of practice together. I hope it can be done again, soon ....
Lunch wasn't lunch at all. We guys ran up to a so called GrubHub nearby and gobbled up pizzas. Pizzas for lunch ?? Whoever mentioned that!! .. but i ended up having a Tandoori Chicken (guess what!!) Pizza for lunch.. (at 3:30pm). Maybe it's better i don't call it lunch. After that, we headed for home and i was tired and satisfied at the same time after recollecting what i did today ...

A surprise waited for me back home. Though there is some time before i buy the actual Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows - which released yesterday - i managed to lay my hands (or rather, my mouse click button.. ) on a .pdf file of the book. I got the file and was more satisfied than anything else ... I think i'll start reading it tomorrow or day-after depending on when i get the chance.

Google's KetchUp

Hopefully, many people might have got into the craze of Google's new software, Google SketchUp. Well, since Kalyan insisted, i tried it out, and i feel Google's has gone one more huge step ahead in Globalizing the world. When they launched Google Earth, i thought they reached the height of this act of making the world so small and yet so big. But by releasing, SketchUp, they converted this 2D satellite image to 3D. We can actually see how the buildings look like. Fortunately, this work is not done by Google, but by us. And this has got it's own ups and downs. While in a way it's good that we ourselves can make 3D models of whatever we want, it's also bad that, this being open to public can create lots of inaccurate data. I have already seen so many mistakes on Google Earth, with people getting confused with certain places and naming strange names for well known places, like naming Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium for the nearly circular infrastructure of GenPact. Such mistakes can be made even in 3D, especially based on the complexity of those models. I saw this model of Charminar in Hyderabad and though it looks close, that guy could have done with some more better details and it would have looked great. Then, there was this building in our city again, called, Babu Khan Estates, and it looks good, but the 3D model was sooo huge, that it even occupied part of the LB stadium near the actual building. Those are some of the mistakes i feel people tend to commit and Google can't do anything about it.

As for me, the compatibility between SketchUp and AutoCAD has helped a lot. I made a model of my Apartment Block a long time ago (still unfinished with the details). Finally, the work has paid off because, i could import that into SketchUp and soon, i can even post it onto Google Earth. But whether i can do the final job is still unknown but the designing part is done, and this is how it looks.

Now, the trick is, i am not showing you the back side of this building. That is totally blank, like an empty box. The front side is done. So hopefully, SketchUp can help me put up my building in Google Earth and get the world to see it. I hate procedures, that's the problem...

July 17th, 2007

Today was one of the most tiring days of my life. With hardly anyone in the class, and the lectures damn boring, i was just swaying around in the class. Felt extremely sick today and more so when i heard that i missed a test and an assignment yesterday. The lunch was nearly an hour long and inspite of that, i was late to class and that great guy didn't allow us in. Spending time in the library was too painful and i wanted to run down to the field. I got that chance pretty soon and we started playing a full-fledged match. The match was great, with passes slicing defenses on both sides like a piece of cake.. goals were damn silly and not at all at the skill level we used to create the goal. But the day was hot and humid and really left us sweating. And that torture continued in the bus for me as there no place. Had to adjust in that useless bus after chucking a solid 9000 on MallaReddy's face. As the tiring day ends, this tiring post ends along with it........... :|

A complicated net ...

Finally, i can see the face of my blog, after waiting so long. It was more than a month that i logged on to my internet account. Some posts might confuse coz, they came within this 1 month, but i either did it from an internet cafe or by some other means .... (let your imagination fly.. hahaha)

Well, i am in now, but this will be sure only for 1 month from now. After that, it will be back to same problem of that poor service by the Reliance guys. The most unreliable service i have ever seen all my life.

Some news later, but first, let me learn this thing called INTERNET for a few days.

07-07-07

This day was the most trance-like day in my life. Though i did nothing the whole day, there was some strange feeling about this day. It was 7-7-7 and for no reason, there was some positive air around me. I know people who like the number 7 and i can understand what they might be doing to celebrate this day. The whole world has woken up for some interesting causes.
First thing i wanted to know was whether Taj Mahal got selected in the new 7 Wonders of the World list. I gave a damn about everything else till around 3 pm. Then suddenly, and surprisingly, i noticed VH1 coming on my television. It might sound wierd here, but the truth is, we never got VH1 ever since i heard of this channel, and some of my friends used to talk so much about this channel. I really wanted to watch it coz, music buffs will always do. It was there playing with such clarity as it were made for my TV. I suddenly realised that there is a live concert going on all across the world. Live Earth was the name, and a few minutes after watching it, i realised it's gonna play the whole day and it will be live. I had some hope to see my favs live on TV. And there they were, so many of them...
It was 3pm when i sat there and never got till almost 2am. I was totally addicted. There were so many artistes that i can't remember the names. Since it was happening across the world, the time-zone came into the picture and one can realise how the world runs thru this confusion maze of time-zones. By evening, the concert in Tokyo was almost over and i was shown that i missed Linkin Park's performance there. That's gonna come later. The Sydney thing was also over. And soon, the show in China was also over. Some good bands were, 12 Girls Band (Shanghai), Linkin Park (Tokyo), Rihana (Tokyo)... and few more. Soon, the concerts in Hamburg, Johnannesburg, and London got underway. The German thing was marked by, Shakira, Enrique and stuff. It was kinda fun, though it was Pop. Enrique started running into the crowd and taking cams of the fans, snapping a shot of himself and giving back the cam. Overall it was ok. I completely got bored with the South African thing coz, most of it was tribal stuff. Wasn't any fun. The real part that really got me tapping my feet was the London one. Was showing them in breaks and whenever he showed the London Concert, i used to get eager. Snoop Dogg did his rappy stuff with that heavy gold chain (must have been atleast 1-2 kgs !!!!!!!!). Then came some ones like Snow Patrol, John Legend, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Metallica, Foo Fighters and many more. This show was really great. RHCP did good songs, among them, the famous, Dani California. Metallica came to London surprisingly, and they did the songs that they always rock on stage, Nothing Else Matters, Enter Sandman and Sad But True. All were good. That came around 1am in India. They were still in 777 and we were in 877.
Many more artists came on, with New York getting into the picture, Bon Jovi and stuff also took to stage. It was great fun. Next day morning, i saw a repeat show and got to see Madonna, Linkin Park, Foo Fighters, The Police, and more, and i felt it was the most complete concert i ever saw in my life. I might have missed many but still i covered enough to be delighted. A good thing was that, this concert was organised to raise charity and to spread the message of the destructive effects of Global Warming and CO2 emmisions. The short films that were shown were very effective and they are a good lesson to anyone who watches them ... and ofcourse, Taj sneaked into the list and that was one more delight i can say ...

So that was the trance like day for me, with extended 2 days, 777 and 877. Some history of 777 might be coming in soon, coz, there's lots more to it.
